New Business Park Being Planned For Spirit Lake

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Spirit Lake city council Tuesday paved the way for the possible development of a new business park. The new park, similar to one on the city’s west side, is to be located on the east side of Highway 71 south. The city council has approved an agreement with the Jacobson/Westegard engineering firm to oversee development of the site…known as the “Ferguson Business Park”. Total engineering fees for the three phases of the project are not to exceed 52,346-dollars. The lots will be zoned for highway commercial and light industrial uses. The city’s planning and zoning commission given its approval as well. Plans call for grading and paving of roads in the site along with extending water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer lines. Total cost for the first phase of the project, consisting of the highway commercial lots, has been estimated at 198-thousand dollars. The second and third phases, for the light industrial lots, have been estimated at about 122-thousand dollars each.
