Two Animals Reported Missing Following Break-In At Humane Society Of NW Iowa Shelter

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– The public is asked to be on the lookout for two dogs reported missing following a break-in sometime late (Sunday) or early this (Monday) morning at the Humane Society of Northwest Iowa’s shelter northeast of Milford.

Kate Wittrock, Director of the local organization, tells KUOO news a male Australian Shepherd, black and tan in color, and a six month-old un-neutered brown and white pit pull are missing and presumed taken during the break-in. Wittrock says she’s very concerned over the animals’ well-being. Anyone with information or that may have seen the dogs should contact their local law enforcement agency.

Wittrock says there was some damage to a door on the building, along with an air conditioner and a light.

The Milford Police Department is investigating.
