(Spirit Lake)– A Spirit Lake High School student has been selected to perform this summer with the Celebration Iowa Singers and Jazz Band.
Rick Wilson, son of George and Lori Bower of Spirit Lake, will be a member of the touring ensemble that will perform more than 30 shows across the state.
Wilson was selected from a pool of Iowa High School music students who auditioned at four locations across the state in March.
Now in its 28th season, Celebration Iowa showcases the quality of Iowa high school music programs through an educational and service-oriented summer performance opportunity.
Along with a talented staff of teachers and professionals, students in Celebration Iowa present an action-packed two-hour production that includes song and dance, and jazz band favorites for all ages to enjoy.
The ensemble rehearses on the Luther College campus June 6-25 and tours statewide June 26-August 7.
