(Spirit Lake)– The city of Spirit Lake is the new owner of a trailer park.
Meeting in special session today (Mon.), the Spirit Lake city council voted unanimously to purchase the Lake Vue Trailer Park…located near Kabel’s Trading Post on the northwest side of East Lake Okoboji. The city is purchasing the land from John Steinkamp for 150-thousand dollars.
City councilman Pat McNorton says the purchase is part of the city’s plan to beautify Hill Avenue and to improve the visibility to the lake. He also says there’s a possibility the city could recoup some of the cost by selling the western part of the property in the future. McNorton says the city would retain ownership of that land immediately adjacent to the lake.
The city takes ownership of the land October 15th.
