(Des Moines)– A spokesman with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources says rumors making the rounds in the Iowa Great Lakes about Pikes Point State Park being sold aren’t true.
Steve Pennington heads up the D-N-R’s Parks Division. He tells KUOO news there’s a specific process that must be followed for the state to sell parks. And none of the parks are being put up for sale at this time. Portions of state parks throughout the state were shut down earlier this summer as the result of budget cutting.
