Charges Filed In Southern Minnesota Murder Case

November 23, 2014

(Waseca, Mn.)– Charges have been filed against two men in a southern Minnesota murder case.

21-year-old Morgan Schultz of Truman has been charged with second-degree murder. Schultz was charged Friday in the death of Rickey Buker of Waseca.

19-year-old Tyler Janovsky of Waseca was charged with being an accessory after the fact…a felony.

Bail for Schultz was set at 500-thousand dollars; Janovsky’s was set at 250-thousand. Both are to make court appearances Monday.

A criminal complaint alleges that Schultz and Janovsky went to Buker’s apartment intending to rob him of cash and marijuana.

According to the complaint, Janovsky waited in a car while Schultz and Buker visited…then Schultz allegedly punched Buker…knocking him out. The complaint alleges that Schultz then strangled Buker with a belt.
