(Spirit Lake)– A happy end to an incident that caused some anxious moments yesterday in Spirit Lake.
Police say a two and-a-half year-old boy was reported missing from a residence in Spirit Lake around 10:30 a.m. Neighbors had last reported seeing the boy about an hour earlier playing with his dog.
The boy and his dog were located by authorities after about 15 minutes of an intensive search. The two were found on the edge of a field near the Public Works Building in Spirit Lake…about six blocks from where he had been reported missing.
The Spirit Lake Police Department was assisted in the search by the Arnolds Park and Okoboji police departments and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
