(Spencer)– The help wanted sign is out at the Clay county fairgrounds.
With the start of the fair just weeks away, the call is going out for workers in a variety of jobs. The hiring process is being coordinated again this year by the Spencer office of Workforce Development. Spokesman Lowell Peters tells KUOO news openings exist for things such as ticket-takers, food service, booth sales and demonstrations, amusement ride set-up and operation, and display set-up.
Peters says they start taking applications now to make sure they have a pool to draw from when hiring starts over the next couple of weeks.
Applicants should stop by the Spencer Workforce Development office at 217 West Fifth Street or calling 262-1971 Ext. 123 or 125. Hours for the sign-up are from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
A temporary Workforce Center will open September 4th inside the north doors of the Agriculture Building on the Clay county fairgrounds.
