Estherville Man Charged In Liquor Store Robbery

November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– Charges have been filed against an Estherville man in connection with last month’s armed robbery of the Regal Liquor store in Estherville.

Authorities say 19-year-old Beau Tremaine Berge has been charged with robbery in the second degree and false imprisonment.

Berge is accused of entering the store on July 31st wearing a disguise and armed with a knife. He allegedly robbed the till and made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Authorities say that on August 2nd, the Emmet county Sheriff’s Office relayed a tip to the Estherville Police Department that led to Wednesday’s arrest of Berge. They aren’t saying exactly what that tip was. However, a news release credits members of the community and the victim for providing the information and the law enforcement officers who investigated the incident.

Berge appeared Wednesday before a magistrate. He remains in the Emmet county jail on a 13-thousand dollar bond for the second degree robbery charge…a class “C” felony. Bond on the false imprisonment charge…a serious misdemeanor…was set at 1,950-dollars.
