(Spencer)– A West Des Moines woman was injured last evening when the vehicle she was driving collided with a train.
Clay county authorities say 44-year-old Tamra Sass was northbound on county road N-14 about a half mile north of Highway 18 when she collided with the eastbound engine of an I & M Rail Link train. The impact spun the vehicle Sass was driving around…smashing it into a crossing sign.
Sass was taken by ambulance to Spencer Municipal Hospital. No injuries were reported to the train’s engineer or brakeman.
The mishap took place around 6:00 last evening.
