(Spirit Lake)– The winner of that 100-thousand dollar Powerball ticket purchased last week at the Spirit Lake Hy-Vee store has come forward.
Kim Strube, the store’s general manager, says Marge Anderson of Worthington, Minnesota stopped in yesterday to verify the winning ticket.
Strube says Anderson purchased the winning ticket last Wednesday when she was in the store to redeem some cans and bottles.
Meanwhile, Powerball fever is expected to get even more rampant. Lottery officials say none of the tickets sold for last night’s drawing matched all of the numbers drawn plus the powerball. That means Saturday’s jackpot will soar to atleast 280 million dollars.
While there was no jackpot winner, 42 tickets matched the first five numbers but missed the powerball. That’s good for 100-thousand dollars. Two of those tickets were sold in Iowa. No word yet as to exactly where.
The winning numbers in last night’s Powerball drawing were two, 28, 30, 36, 39 and the Powerball was ten.
