(Spirit Lake)– There’s a new development in plans to establish an environmental learning center in the Iowa Great Lakes.
The Dickinson County Conservation Board and Conservation Foundation want to move the former Back Porch restaurant building from its current location in Wahpeton to the county farm near Kenue Park west of Okoboji. They’re requesting permission from the county to put it there.
Jim Teul of the Dickinson County Conservation Foundation says the cost of moving the building has been estimated at 33-thousand dollars. He says they plan on getting the money through fundraisers and grants.
