(Algona)– An Algona man has pleaded not guilty to a first degree murder charge in the death of 25-year-old Nicole Berte of Livermore.
24-year-old Randy Lee Bode was charged in the murder and sexual abuse of Berte, who’s body was found in a burned pickup truck November 17th, 2000 two miles south of Algona.
Bode is scheduled to stand trial December 4th. If convicted, he faces a mandatory life prison sentence without the possibility of parole.
Bode entered the plea yesterday in Kossuth County District Court.
