Ethanol Plants Not Feasible For Clay Or Dickinson Counties

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Officials with the Corridor of Opportunity…the joint economic development venture between Clay and Dickinson counties…have announced the findings of a recently conducted feasibility study. The Corridor’s Executive Director, Jan Boles, says it looked into the possibility of building an ethanol plant in one of the counties.

Boles says the study found that as of right now, it isn’t feasible to build such a facility here. It sites the high cost of infrastructure that’s lacking for such a plant.

Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative helped underwrite the study along with the Corridor of Opportunity.
