(Undated)– Some 50-thousand gas ranges made by the Newton-based Maytag company are being recalled.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the ranges emit too much carbon monoxide while in the broil and self-clean modes. The commission also says the affected ranges pose a safety threat because the storage drawer gets extremely hot when the ranges are in either of those modes.
So far, officials at Maytag say they haven’t received any reports of injuries.
The company is offering free repair of the ranges.
The affected 30-inch self-clean gas ranges have the following model and serial numbers:
Model ACF3315A (T) (K); serial numbers beginning 0005 through 0103.
Model ACF3335A (W) (C) (B) (S); serial numbers beginning 0005 through 0107.
Model ACF3375A (W) (C) (B) (S); serial numbers beginning 0006 through 0107.
