(Spirit Lake)– Crime tape can be seen surrounding the north side of the Dickinson county courthouse.
It went up over the weekend.
Officials say it isn’t there because a crime was committed. It’s there as a safety precaution.
Wayne Northey, Chairman of the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors, tells KUOO news several windows on that side of the building are on the verge of falling out. He says officials put the tape up to keep people out of that area in the event one actually does fall out.
Windows have fallen out of the decrepit building in the past…but no one was injured.
The future of the Dickinson County courthouse remains anyone’s guess.
Several windows that were broken out of the building during the June 12th hail storm still haven’t been replaced.
