(Primghar)– Four people have been charged in connection with an O’Brien county beating.
Authorities say 26-year-old Lawrence John Hopcroft the third of Primghar, 21-year-old Marissa Belle Hopcroft of Primghar, 31-year-old Richard Thomas Hopcroft of Orange City and 31-year-old Kelli Jo DenHartog of Orange City were each charged with robbery in the first degree and willful injury.
DenHartog was also charged with child endangerment.
The charges stem from an incident on a rural road northeast of Primghar on July 20th of this year.
It’s alleged the four were involved in the beating and robbery of a male subject they knew. The victim was hospitalized for a fractured skull and has since recovered.
The child endangerment charge against DenHartog alleges that she had her seven year-old son with her at the time of the alleged incident.
The Hopcrofts and DenHartog are being held in the O’Brien county jail on bond of 32-thousand dollars. They’ll appear in court at a later date.
