DCMH Reminds Women Of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The month of October is national breast cancer awareness month. In commemoration of that, Jennifer Hickerson of Dickinson County Memorial Hospital says they’re offering a mammography screening program this month at a reduced cost. Hickerson says they’re doing it to point out the importance of early detection.

The American Cancer Society says women age 40 and over should have a mammogram every year. All women over the age of 20 should do self-exams on a monthly basis.

Those interested in getting a mammogram should contact DCMH at 336-1230, extension 140 to schedule an appointment.
