(Emmetsburg)– Even though there’s talk among some economists that the recession in Iowa is easing, a local state lawmaker says the worst is still come in Iowa’s budget shortfalls.
State Senator Jack Kibbie says the latest figures from Iowa’s revenue estimating council continue to come in less than what had been projected when the current budget was put together.
Kibbie is also critical of plans to reorganize state agencies…saying it’s quoting “nickel and dime stuff”. He says it will come nowhere close to offsetting additional expenditures coming from increased insurance and more people going onto welfare rolls.
