(Undated)– A rare December heatwave continues to set records in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota.
New record high temperatures were set already before 7:00 a.m. today (Wed.) when the temperature was already 60 degrees. The National Weather Service says it could get up to 65 today before a cold front moves through and temperatures start to fall this afternoon. Showers and even thunderstorms…almost unheard of for December…are in the forecast.
The weather is expected to return to more seasonal levels the rest of the week…with highs in the 30’s and lows in the 20’s. No major storms and no arctic outbreaks are in the forecast though.
