(Estherville)– Hundreds turned out at a reception Wednesday evening to say farewell to Jim Billings who’s retiring as President of Iowa Lakes Community College.
Billings attributes his many years of success to the people he’s worked with. When it comes to major accomplishments, Billings is especially proud of improvements that were made to facilities and consecutive record enrollments over the past several years.
Looking ahead, Billings says the very future of community colleges could be in jeopardy as the result of funding cutbacks. He says it’s going to be even more important in the future for the public to support community colleges by donating to endowment and scholarship funds.
