(Fort Dodge)– The U-S Highway 20 Association is mounting a petition drive to keep the road’s expansion in the Fort Dodge area on schedule. They hope to get 15-thousand people to sign the petitions, which will be presented to Governor Tom Vilsack and D-O-T Director Mark Wandro.
Dakin Schultz of the Iowa D-O-T says the agency’s commissioners will consider delaying the project because of budget woes at their meeting December 11th.
The D-O-T is expecting a 300 million dollar shortfall in highway funding over the next five years.
