(Des Moines)– Clay county’s application for a million dollars in funding for a regional events center through Vision Iowa’s Community Attractions and Tourism Program is entering a new phase.
The Vision Iowa board has opened a 10-day public comment period on the project. People can express either support or opposition in writing to the Vision Iowa board. They have until November 29th to do that.
The Vision Iowa board is expected to consider the application at its next meeting, November 30th.
The 50-thousand square foot convention center is proposed for the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer. The project has a total cost of 4.23 million dollars. Fundraising for the project continues.
