(Spirit Lake)– The 1891 portion of the Dickinson county courthouse may be in for some repairs.
The board of supervisors Tuesday directed architect Mark Aspaas to do a study on replacing the roof and windows. The cost of the study is not to exceed 1,500-dollars. Atleast a portion of the work, if it’s actually carried out, would be paid for through a 54-thousand dollar grant from the Iowa Historical Society. But there’s still some questions on any strings that may be attached to the grant and the projects on which the money can be spent. Aspaas was also directed to get something in writing from the state regarding that.
Aspaas indicated he could have a report ready for the supervisors in a couple of weeks or so.
