Veteran’s Memorial

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– Dickinson county may soon have a permanent memorial for those who lost their lives while fighting for our freedom.

Cleo Johnson is a local veteran who’s heading up a fundraising effort. He says they want to erect a memorial next to the Dickinson county museum in Spirit Lake. They hope to raise atleast 28-thousand dollars. They’re also looking for names of veterans who lost their lives in any of the major conflicts the U-S has been involved in. Contributions and names can be dropped off at First Bank and Trust in Spirit Lake.

Johnson says it’ll probably be the summer of 2003 before construction starts on the project.
