(Spencer)– A local computer recycling program is the recipient of a 29,942-dollar grant through the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
The Iowa Lakes Resource Conservation and Development in Spencer has been awarded the grant for a program that refurbishes computers which are in turn donated to schools.
Valerie Drew of the D-N-R tells KUOO news the grant is through a program funded by a state surcharge on landfill usage.
The local computer recycling program is based out of Spencer.
It’s been in existence for about two years now.
