(Spirit Lake)– Police are reminding residents of city ordinances and how they pertain to snowmobiles.
Spirit Lake Police Chief Dan Thomsen says the majority of complaints his office receives pertains to snowmobiles being operated on private property. Thomsen says anyone caught operating on private property will be sited for a misdemeanor which carries a 100-dollar fine plus court costs.
Thomsen also reminds anyone operating snowmobiles on city streets they must abide by the same laws as other motor vehicles.
