(Sioux City)– This is a busy time of year for an organization that helps people get out of debt.
Jon Beringer of the Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Greater Siouxland says they typically see a big demand for services this time of year. He says it comes from people who simply went in over their heads and overused credit cards while Christmas shopping.
Beringer says his office can assist by helping restructure the debt and develop long-term plans to get it paid off.
The non-profit organization’s services are free of charge.
Locally, Consumer Credit Counseling Services has an office located in Spencer. It’ll be moving into the same building that houses the Clay County Extension Service at 110 west fourth street on January 2nd.
