(Emmetsburg)– A local state lawmaker says he’s glad to hear the issue of feedlots will probably be debated in the upcoming legislative session.
State Senator Jack Kibbie of Emmetsburg says it’s high time. But he strongly feels any debate that doesn’t include local control would be a waste of time.
Kibbie also feels there will be a renewed debate over cleanwater in light of the recent fish kills near Clarion, Algona and Sheldon. Kibbie is confident there will be a strong push to increase fines against anyone found responsible for a spill.
