Okoboji Starts Budgeting Process

November 23, 2014

(Okoboji)– The city of Okoboji has started formulating its budget for the upcoming fiscal year.

The council reviewed preliminary figures at a special meeting Thursday evening. City Administrator Dennis Daly tells KUOO news they’re looking at a General Fund levy of about $2.48 per thousand dollars valuation with a debt service levy of about $1.96 per thousand. Both are down slightly from last year. Daly says increased valuations are to thank for that.

The city will continue to fine tune the proposed budget over the upcoming weeks. A public hearing will be held sometime next month.
