(Arnolds Park)– This year’s University of Okoboji Iowa Great Lakes Winter Games received exposure on both the national and international fronts.
A writer from the Chicago bureau of the New York Times was in the Iowa Great Lakes over the weekend covering the event. Jodi Wilgoren tells KUOO news they heard about the winter games through a story on the Associated Press talking about how this year’s mild weather forced organizers to move the events. Wilgoren says they’ve been doing a series of stories on the abnormally mild winter and the effect it’s been having on various activities.
Wilgoren says she was impressed by the area and everything that was going on this past weekend.
