(Okoboji)– The schedule of productions for the upcoming season at the Okoboji Summer Theatre was announced at the annual meeting of the theatre’s board of directors this past weekend.
The season opens June 18th with a musical titled “Smoke on The Mountain”. That will be followed by a family production titled “Heaven Can Wait”. The third production of the season will be a drama titled “The Immigrant”. Other productions for the upcoming season include “Once Upon A Mattress”…a musical; “Faith County”…a comedy; “Anastasia”…a drama; and the season will close with a musical titled “Kiss Me Kate”.
OST Board President Rick Wiersma says 40 students from Stevens College…which runs the theatre…will be on the lot this summer. It’s one of the largest groups of students to be here yet.
Wiersma says patrons will notice several improvements to the theatre…including newly rennovated restrooms and a newly installed air conditioning system. Wiersma says they’re looking for additional furnishings for additional housing that’s been moved onto the lot for performers.
