November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A two vehicle accident late Sunday night in downtown Spirit Lake sent two people to the hospital.

Spirit Lake police say vehicles driven by 19-year-old Tanya Meister of Everly and 23-year-old Kama Decker of Lake Park collided in the intersection of Highways nine and 71 and Hill Avenue shortly before midnight.

Meister and Decker were transported by amublance to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.

Authorities say Meister was southbound on Hill Avenue and Decker was westbound on the inside lane of Highways nine and 71 when the two collided.

Charges were filed against both drivers.

2,500-dollars in damage was estimated to a 1989 Dodge driven by Meister with three thousand dollars in damage estimated to a 1994 Toyota driven by Decker.
