Corridor Requests Additional Funding From Counties

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Corridor of Opportunity, an economic development consortium consisting of Clay and Dickinson counties, is asking for more money from each county in the upcoming fiscal year.

Corridor spokesman Mike Stineman says they’re requesting 25-thousand dollars each from Clay and Dickinson counties…10-thousand dollars more than what was requested in the current fiscal year. Stineman says the request is needed to offset a federal grant that ran out last year.

On another issue, Stineman says a search for a new Executive Director for the corridor is about to get underway. Jan Bowles of Spirit Lake abruptly resigned from the position last month.
