County Applies For Federal Road Construction Money

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– The Dickinson County Board of Supervisors Tuesday signed off an application for 542,500-dollars in road construction money through the federal “Transportation Equity Act”…or TEA.

The money would be used to re-surface county road M-56 on the east and north sides of Big Spirit Lake. The county would chip in an additional 232,500-dollars. Jackson county, Minnesota has agreed to pay 100-thousand dollars toward the project since a portion of the road is on the state line.

County Engineer Dan Eckert says the project wouldn’t get under way until the 2005 federal fiscal year.
