LAC’s Vision Iowa Application Making Slow Progress

November 23, 2014

(Okoboji)– The Lakes Art Center’s application for 600-thousand dollars in Vision Iowa funds continues to slowly make its way through the system. The center’s Executive Director, Paula Henry, tells KUOO news the application is still in the negotiation stage.

Meanwhile, construction on the center’s expansion…which includes a performing arts center…continues to make good progress. Henry says they’ll be mailing out brochures on attractions they’ll be offering in the facility in 2002 and 2003 in May or so.

The expansion also includes the second phase of an interactive gallery known as “Art Smart”. It’s slated for completion in early June along with a multi-purpose area.

The center continues to take contributions for the project. For a donation, you can have your name placed on a seat in the performing arts center.
