(Arnolds Park)– The board of directors of the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum have hired a new numbers cruncher.
Lisa Selar of Milford has been hired as accounting manager/controller. Her first day on the job was Monday. Selar was formerly a Vice President of Finance at Liberty Bank in Arnolds Park. Prior to that she worked as Director of Accounting at Spencer Municipal Hospital.
Selar replaces Marty Lowe as the Maritime Museum Board’s Accounting Manager/Controller. Lowe passed away in December.
Thacker is confident the board has the proper people in place to make the Arnolds Park Amusement Park and related facilities profitable. He says some changes will be implemented at the park this coming summer to help improve efficiency of operations.
Thacker says they’re also seeing an increase in bookings already for the upcoming season.
Thacker added the Maritime Museum Board is going to try to improve communication with the public. The board in the past has closed its meetings to the public and media.
