(Arnolds Park)– The large population of deer in the Iowa Great Lakes will be the topic of a meeting next month in Arnolds Park.
Chris LaRue, a wildlife biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, tells KUOO news they want to look at possible ways to reduce the herd. He says they especially want to meet with owners of land that have high numbers of deer to see if they’d be open to allow some sort of special harvesting activity.
The March 20th meeting will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Arnolds Park City Hall.
