(Montgomery)– A downed power line resulted in Highway nine being closed to traffic west of Spirit Lake for a couple of hours this (Saturday) afternoon.
Authorities say a combination of ice and strong wind caused the transmission line, owned by Corn Belt Power Cooperative, to come down. It struck several vehicles…causing an undetermined amount of damage. No injuries were reported, though.
The line went down about two miles of west of the Highway 86 junction.
Both lanes of the highway were still closed at 2:00 p.m. (Sat.) between 190th and 200th avenues.
