Iowa House To Debate Personal Watercraft Bill

November 23, 2014

(Des Moines)– A bill that would regulate personal watercraft on Iowa’s waterways could come up Tuesday in the House.

State Representative Greg Stevens of Milford says the bill is similar to others in the past in that it would require operators aged 12 to 17 to undergo training courses. This bill would also prohibit the operation of personal watercraft between sundown and sunrise; it would prohibit using them for chasing or harassing animals; and operators would have to wear personal flotation devices.

Stevens feels this bill has a better chance of passing than ones in the past.
