(Superior)– A house in Superior was gutted by fire Monday morning.
Mel Wernimont of the Superior Fire Department tells KUOO news the house, located on fourth street on the town’s north side, is owned by Travis and Amber Rowley…who currently reside in Estherville.
Wernimont says the Rowleys were remodeling the house in preparation of putting it up for sale. No one was in the house at the time of the fire. Wernimont says natural gas and water to the house had been shut off, but the electricity was still on.
The cause of the fire isn’t known. The State Fire Marshall has been contacted.
The Superior Fire Department was called to the scene around 6:00 a.m. Monday. They were assisted by the Terril Fire Department.
Firefighters remained on the scene several hours dousing hot spots.
No injuries were reported.
