(Milford)– The Milford City Council has decided to delay the downtown improvement project.
The project was originally scheduled for this summer. But City Administrator Brian Reed says council members were concerned over the impact it would have on businesses during the heart of the tourist season.
Reed says a bidletting is still on for next month, but construction won’t start until after Labor Day.
Because a portion of the project will be funded through special assessments to property owners, a public hearing must also be held before the project can proceed. Reed says that will probably happen in mid-April.
