Vision Iowa Board: Lake Park Project Needs Larger Local Financial Commitment

November 23, 2014

(Spirit Lake)– A new string has been attached to a 1.1 million dollar Vision Iowa grant being awarded for a project in Lake Park.

It includes a 7-12 educational facility, gymnasium, community center, city/school library, city/school auditorium, little leage and soccer fields, baseball-softball complex and walking trail.

Harris-Lake Park Superintendent Gary Richardson told the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors Tuesday the Vision Iowa Board wants the county to increase its commitment to 250-thousand dollars. The supervisors voted unanimously to go along with the increase as long as they don’t have to start paying it until 2004. The money will be paid over a five year period.
