(Undated)– Strong thunderstorms erupted over the region Tuesday evening…bringing an end to the oppressive heat and humidity of the past couple days.
There were no reports of significant damage in the lakes area. The storms did bring torrential rain, gusty wind and there were reports of pea to marble-size hail in some areas.
The early spring heatwave toppled record high temperatures Monday when readings soared into the upper 80’s to the low 90’s. Temperatures were back in the upper 80’s Tuesday. Passage of a cold front Tuesday night brought cooler temperatures. Even then, readings will still be above normal until Friday when a much stronger cold front is expected to arrive.
