(Sioux Falls, S.D.)– Two local POET Ethanol plants are among those being recognized by a railroad for safety.
The Union Pacific Railroad which services POET plants in Ashton and Emmetsburg has presented those plants with its Pinnacle Award for chemical transportation safety.
The award is given to companies that have no non-accident chemical releases during the year and have successful prevention and corrective plans in place.
POET plants in Jewell, Iowa; Lake Crystal, Minnesota and Hudson, South Dakota also received the award.
