Pursuit Injures Minnesota Woman; Results In Charges

November 23, 2014

(Sibley)– A pursuit earlier this week in Osceola county sent a Minnesota woman to the hospital and resulted in a variety of charges being filed against her.

The Sheriff’s Office says a deputy attempted to pull over 15-year-old Chelsie Meyeraan of Ellsworth, Minnesota for speeding at the intersection of Highway Nine and Monroe Avenue Tuesday.

Authorities say Meyeraan refused to pull over and a pursuit ensued on Kennedy Avenue, north of 140th Street where the vehicle she was driving went into the east ditch.

Meyeraan sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Rock Rapids hospital where she was held overnight for observation.

Meyeraan was cited for failure to have a valid driver’s license, speeding, and eluding.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, Little Rock Fire and Rescue and the Little Rock ambulance and paramedics.
