(Terril)– The Terril school’s steering committee that’s been looking into possible sharing options learned of a new possibility that might be available at their meeting Wednesday.
The group met with state representative Greg Stevens who informed them of a bill passed in the legislature that creates charter schools. Superintendent Bruce Tepfer says such schools offer a higher level of courses on a K-12 level.
Tepfer says the committee will meet May 16th with Eric Heitz of the Iowa Department of Education at which time they’ll get more information on the charter school concept along with additional information on sharing possibilities.
