ELC Superintendent To Step Down…But With Conditions

November 23, 2014

(Estherville)– The superintendent of the Estherville-Lincoln Central school district has accepted a non-renewable contract…but with some conditions.

The school board has indicated it will not renew Dr. Steve Colby’s contract.

Colby says he proposed the non-renewable contract with some contingencies: that he get some time off the rest of the school year; that he be fully compensated for the current contract; and that he serve as a part-time consultant to the school district in finding a new superintendent.

Colby has been superintendent for the Estherville-Lincoln Central school district for four years.
