Supervisors Again Requested To Help Fund Milford Project

November 23, 2014

(Milford)– What’s fair for the goose is fair for the gander. That was the message a delegation of Milford residents had Tuesday for the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors.

Don Lamb and others requested the county contribute 50-thousand dollars to help offset a shortfall in fundraising for the Milford Community Center…which was built already several years ago. Previous requests to the supervisors were rejected. Lamb says he thought they’d try it again now since the county has contributed to other projects…such as the YMCA, Lakes Art Center and Lake Park’s proposed community complex. The latter contribution hinges on a bond issue passing.

A motion by Supervisor David Gottsche to grant the funding request for the Milford Community Center died for lack of a second. Supervisors then voted two to one, with Gottsche voting no, to table the request a couple of weeks.
