(Lake Park)– A shed on a farm site near Lake Park was completely destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon.
The Lake Park Fire Department was called to the Rob Allan farm just east of Lake Park on 140th Street around 1:15 p.m.
Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Rolfes tells KUOO news the blaze completely destroyed an old hog house that had been converted to a tool shed. The building’s contents were also destroyed, and a pickup parked outside it was heavily damaged.
Rolfes says the building was already pretty much destroyed when firefighters arrived. He says crews spent most of the time putting out hot spots and extinguishing piles of burning wood in a nearby grove…where the fire was fanned by a strong south wind.
The cause of the blaze isn’t known.
The Lake Park Fire Department was at the scene until 3:30 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
